“Update: the window was fixed shortly after this and I was able to return. Original: I've been renting with all county for over 12 years now. We've never really had issues until recently. Sometimes they take a couple weeks to a month to respond to a maintenance issue but no big issues. During hurricane Milton my bedroom window was broken and it is now four months later and my son and I are still in a hotel thanks to my renters insurance which is not going to continue to pay for the hotel as they cannot get any updates from my property manager about the status of the fix. Since October 12th when we reported the broken window after being evacuated due to the hurricane they sent out a handyman who said he could not fix it then tried to send out the same handyman again the next month. The guy in charge of maintenance then said he had assigned a vendor to come out and look to fix it at Thanksgiving. When I contacted them to set up a time for them to come out they did not have a work order nor did they do single window fixes. Another month passes and it is now Christmas and they are getting ready to close for the holiday and now I'm being told that another vendor was being assigned. I had to literally ask for the name of the vendor so I could contact them over the holidays as the office was going to be closed for the next two weeks. And when I spoke to her she said she had the work order however there were some issues between all County and her company that they were trying to work out and she would get back to me after the new year. During these four months we were calling at least once a week if not more to try to get status on when it would be repaired and kept getting told they couldn't find a vendor or they did find a vendor and they didn't know why they weren't calling us and the story just kept changing. I still have not had a contractor come out to my apartment to look at the broken window and now the contractor that was assigned is not responding nor is the property management company after multiple voicemails to both. At this point I have advised of my intent to withhold rent until it is fixed under Florida law. If you are a property owner I strongly suggest you put your money elsewhere. If you are a tenant beware renting from them.”
